By the decision No T-224 of Ignalina District Municipality Council, dated 14 February 2008 the State owned institution the Ignalina District Municipality Public Health Bureau (hereinafter – the Bureau) was established. The Bureau has officially started its activities on 5 March 2008.
The Ignalina District Municipality Public Health Bureau is a State owned Public Sector Health Care Municipality institution under the Lithuanian National Health System.
OBJECTIVE – to take care of health issues amongst the residents in the municipality, to implement municipal health care measures regulated by the laws and other legal acts of the Republic of Lithuania in order to reduce morbidity and mortality of the population, to improve the quality of life by providing high-quality public health care services in Ignalina and other municipalities under contracts.
MISSION – to shape the society’s attitude towards health as one of the main priorities of life, to change the inadequate lifestyle and behaviour of residents by teaching the principles of healthy lifestyle.
VISION – a totally healthy individual, extended life expectancy and high quality of life of elderly residents of the community.
THE ROLE OF THE BUREAU is to organize and provide public health care services to natural and legal persons in the area of the Ignalina municipality.
